Wednesday September 1st – Saturday October 2nd, Canadian Blood Services is hosting a Lumsden and Community Blood Drive.
Town Council is encouraging you to donate blood during the month of September, if you can.
With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, demand for blood products has increased as hospitals treat more trauma patient admissions and carry out surgical procedures that were put on hold. Canadian Blood Services (CBS) anticipates the increase in demand will continue into the winter months and holidays. All open appointments must be filled to ensure there’s an acceptable inventory level of blood for Canadian patients.
Since the beginning of Covid-19, group donations in Regina have decreased by 70%. CBS relies entirely on the generosity of donors to maintain their national blood supply. The Canadian Blood Services’ Regina Donor Centre must realize close to 1900 appointments every month!
Group bookings and shuttles for groups can be arranged by contacting CBS.
We at Canadian Blood Services appreciate all your help.
